Artist statement
The experience of art-making and its process with all the choices of colors, shapes, lines and textures concentrate time and bring me back to the present.
I question myself on the relationship between space and the association of elements drawn from my sketches, my photographs or nature. Some of my paintings, collages and prints are on the boundary of realism and propose new spaces where these elements are extracted from their context to create a new dialogue with forms and textures.
The latest project, J'habite tout près d'un ruisseau, is inspired by the brook that runs very close to my home. It offers me throughout the year a changing decor that allows me to explore the idea of a succession of independent elements composing a new abstract pictural space.
